ABOUT THE AUTHOR - Rod Jones
Welcome to this collection of some of the poetry that I have written during the past twenty years. There is no purpose to my work other than to share some of my thoughts and feelings with anyone interested enough to read it and possibly, to identify with certain of my perspectives. The poems on this site have all been taken from the four books that I have produced so far , namely; "Memories of Life and Mirror Lakes"," Pictures and Perspectives" ,"The Glory of Friendship." ( January 2000) and  "My Tribute to Women." ( October 2000) I will greatly appreciate any feed-back or comments.

Unquestionably, one of the great highlights of my life was when I was invited by the organisers of the Telkom-sponsored "Night Of The Poets" event, to read four poems 'In Praise of Women' at a gala function held on 6th August 2003 at the Sandton Convention Centre. I wrote "Gentle" specifically for this occasion.
These are the four poems that I presented at the event.

My privilege was to present my poetry alongside several of South Africa's most acclaimed poets. These included: Masello "Modjadji" Motana, Diana Ferrus, Sandile Dikeni, Marie Beytell and Lebo Mashile.
