OPEN
Just
open your eyes
And let me see
The fire that burns in your heart.
Impart your feelings
To me in the warmth of your smile
Whilst I hold your hand
And revel in your radiance
Open your mind to me.
Let me explore
All those things that make you
Who you really are.
Far from being just a face
In a place like this world,
You are unique.
There's no need for you to seek
An oblique reference to yourself.
You are just who you are.
A star without analogy.
Your own trilogy.
Your soul.
Your mind.
Your body.
One, with One,
With all.
In all that you are.
You 're a star.
You shine beyond compare.
I stare, but only because
I am entranced by your beauty
Open your lips to me.
Let me share but a single kiss.
Remiss, perhaps , I may be.
For all that I can see is you.
And, of course, the reality
That I can never be truly free
From the power that you hold.
Over all ?
Over me ?
I'm trapped in a surreal world,
A fantasy.
See me as I see you.
Complete.
Deceitful ?
In ways, perhaps,
But not designed to hurt.
Alert to the subtleties that I see
And live with every day.
Afraid to say what it is that I really want.
I chant protests in the streets
And perform such similar feats
Merely to shock society.
Or lock myself in or out.
Is it that I simply long
To be free from convention
Or the retention
And hard prejudice of old set-in ways?
Who says that I too
Cannot be free ?
Open your blouse to me.
Let me caress your breast.
Hold me, least I float away,
Never knowing just how warm and tender
You may really be;
Never knowing what mutual pleasures
We may yet share.
Do you care ?
Do you dare to share ?
Despair's not a feeling
That I'm familiar with.
But, there's always a first time.
No crime in that.
A caveat.
Lest some bureaucrat
Declares all emotion void,
Fit only for commitment
To celluloid and Oscar nights.
Open your sheets to me.
Let me hold your warm body
Close to mine.
Sublime,
Perhaps, in so many ways;
Stay with me.
Let's share this dawn.
And all that comes of it.
If it comes at all !
Open your body to me,
Let me feel you warm inside.
Let's hide
From the world,
Whilst we make each other feel truly
needed.
Writhe with me a while
In futile fornication,
Mere gratification of our human need.
Greed ?
Certainly, and then some.
And a whole lot more.
The score ?
Simply our right to live life.
Devoid of strife and banal conflict.
Our right to revel in some precious moments;
In this fleeting flash of partial reality.
So, why not just open your heart to me.
