MAY YOU BE GENTLE

 

May you go gentle down your path through life

May you be free of conflict, free of sadness and strife

Blue skies and sunlight above your head

Soft mosses and lawns beneath your tread

 

May you be purposeful;  reach all of  your goals

May all whom you meet, be true, gentle souls

Let peace prevail in all that you do

Be there fond memories of all you once knew

 

May wisdom and knowledge be your life’s simple gains

May you be spared the impact of all of life’s pains

Let joy be the feeling when you wake for each day

Be peace the emotion with sunset’s last ray

 

May the universe hold you as one of its own

May you reap from the bounty of all that is sown

Let sharing and caring be your guiding lights

Be safe and secure your memories of nights

 

May all those you encounter be strong and sincere

May you hold virtue and honor and values as dear

Let truth be your feelings, your words and your deeds

Be fulfilled in your wantings, your dreams and your needs

 

May you go gentle. May you laugh, may you smile

May I pause with you briefly. Just for a while

Let a moment not pass, not a minute slip by

Be just who you are, may you never need cry
