I’M A FLY FISHERMAN

I’m a fly fisherman
One of a breed
I take off to the waters
Whenever I need
To break free of the pressures
The corporate domain
To spend a few days
To remember I’m sane

I’m a fly fisherman
I cling to my quirks
That take me in search
Where the giant rainbow lurks
I’ll ford stream and river
Wade up to my chest
But the quest for that trophy
Will give me no rest

I’m a fly fisherman
I demand just the best
From my new Hardy graphite
To my much-pocketed vest
I have gadgets galore
They cost quite a sum
But you can’t take it with you
When this life is done

I’m a fly fisherman
The philosophical sort
I’ll recount many a tale
Of the fish I have caught
I’ve won some and lost some
I’ll lose many more
But my peace I’ll take with me
‘Till I reach heaven’s door.
